It took a lot of thinking before I purchased this violin. Two things came up in my mind: Is it good quality? And if it is, WHY SO CHEAP???!!! I finally decided to purchase the violin. The shipping was fast. It only took 3 days with the standard shipping. The package was in excellent condition. When I opened the box, everything was there. Nothing missing, nothing broken. The violin had great sound. The bow was a good quality bow. The violin case was excellent. The only problem was tiny scratch on the back of the violin, but that was no problem. Overall, I give this violin 5 STARS: A MUST HAVE!

  • Full Size Antique Style Violin
  • Beautiful Natural Color
  • Maple Sides and Back
  • Wood Bow with Genuine Horse Hair

This violin is ideal for the budding musician. It is a beautiful antique style full size Violin. It includes a genuine horse hair wood bow, rosin and a featherweight carrying case. Accessory colors/style may vary. Comes with an Austin Bazaar product guide. Here are some hints to help keep your violin in tune: 1. Although the violins come with a bridge, it is not installed. Installing a bridge is not difficult, but if you have a problem, please email us. The bridge has to be installed for the violin to play correctly. 2. Strings do tend to slip and lose their tune on a new violin because they need to stretch. If this happens, just give it time. The strings just need time to settle in. 3. If the violin pegs keep slipping, try to push the peg in while turning it. If they still dont stay in, peg drops are available at most music stores. They are relatively inexpensive and should help the pegs stay in. 4. If a strand of hair breaks on the bow, take a pair of nail clippers and cut it from the frog (bottom of the bow) or the top of the bow. A few hairs are bound to fall out with play. Remember to rub a little rosin (included) on the bow before playing. This is a great violin to get started with. And at this price it is an unbeatable value.

Great starter violin - Sway - Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada
I bought this violin for my 10 yr old daughter and am just amazed at the beautiful resonance the sound creates. It did take a long time to build up the roisin on the bow, and at first the pegs slipped but after a few weeks they now stay in tune. One reviewer noted the bridge doesn't have slots; this certainly does although they are hard to see. I never expected this sound quality at the low price Amazon offered.

horrible - grrr -
I got this violin so I can learn to play,br /this violin is horrible!br /The E string will not stay in tune the hole is too big for the peg.br /Bow is cheaply made and falls apart.br /The fingerboard is not even made of ebony, but wood that is painted over with black paint.br /The strings were replaced becuase of the horrible quality.br /I would rather add a couple more dollars and buy a violin that I can actually enjoy playing with ease.br /I have played my friend's violin and it sounds amazing compared to mine.br /Her violin has a soft deep tone so you can get into the song that you play.br /I am sorry for my bad grammar in this description but I want to warn you Do NOT BUY THIS!br /
